Meme - ‘Words to Meditate on’

My friend Preston at Me and Blue Skies, Challenged me to write about (meditate about, whatever that means) how they relate to 5 words that he provides. The person who writes the post has been provided 5 words that somehow relate to them from a blogger who had previously written a words meme post. Once you get the 5 words, write your own ‘Words to Meditate on’ post. Come on, go for it. So following are my 5 memes:
(A meme (pronounced /miːm/) consists of any idea or behavior that can pass from one person to another by learning or imitation. Examples include thoughts, ideas, theories, gestures, practices, fashions...)
Family
I would think most people would think of either mom and dad and siblings or their spouse and kids. To me family is what grounds me. My parents and my sibling have passed on and I am divorced but I have two children and 5 grandchildren who live right here in the same town. I am luckier than most, having my family here.
Equality
Equality is what may never really become a reality. It is trying, America is trying but until many generations have passed on there will still be a few who have that little bit of discrimination of the races and the refusal to believe that women should be treated the same as men.
Photography
There are people who have a special knack for photography. They can take a picture of a paper sack and make it look interesting. Digital cameras have made photographers of a lot of us who probably wouldn't have been able to take good pictures without point and click. I am a roving photographer for our hometown website and love to shoot out of the car window, through the windshield and flipping around in the middle of the street to get a good shot. I may never be a pro but I have a lot of fun.
Water
Where I grew up, the Texas panhandle, we didn't have a swimming pool until I was 11 and that year all the kids in town learned to swim. I loved swimming for many a year and was even a life guard for a time or two. I am a fresh water person and don't care to swim in salt water.
Thrift Shopping
Now this is my R & R and hobby of sorts. I have been garage saleing many a year, probably for 40 years or so. My mom and I went, now my daughter and I go and even half my grandkids like it. It is the thrill of the hunt for that certain item you need but don't want to spend much to get a new one. You almost always find what you are looking for. Or there is the fun of finding something you could live without but you get it anyway. It is the true "one persons trash is anothers treasure."
Sue me
That would be like getting blood out of a turnip. Nuf said.
