Welcome to the Ann Tucker Blog!

Welcome to my personal blog. Thanks to my son for building this neat blog page. I decided I wanted to give my thoughts and words to the world and hope they have some meaning and memories to grandparents (and others) everywhere. I am a retired civil servant (35.5 years with the Department of the Air Force), mother of two and grandmother of five. My maiden name was Scaling and I was married to Tilford N. Tucker. I raised and put two great children through college so I have a lot of experiences to build on. After retirement I became a webmaster (working for my son) for some of our family websites: ShaggyDuck
Have a fun time and a great day, bookmark this site and come back often!!!!

Tops U.S. Car Sales

I wonder if you are ready for this one?

According to FOXNews.com
Tops U.S. Car Sales Little Tikes Cozy Coupe
Sunday, June 07, 2009

A classic toy car is being inducted into an auto museum in Cleveland - and it outsold every other car in the U.S. in 2008.

The Cozy Coupe, a plastic cherry-red sports car, allows toddlers to sit on a bench-style seat and poke their legs through to the ground. When they start walking, the car begins to go. On Saturday, it will take its place next to historically significant automobiles at the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum. The Cozy Coupe sold 457,000 units in 2008, topping the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. In the '90s, it outsold both the Accord and Ford Taurus. It would land in the top-20 best-selling models of all time, if considered, having sold more than 10 million units in its 30-year history. The museum will house one of the first Cozy Coupes to come off the production line in 1979. The Cozy Coupe is made by The Little Tikes Co. in Hudson, Ohio.

This is so interesting and amazing! My grandson does not have one of these and he is two years old. I will have to check into them. I have completely lost track of kids toys today and feel like I am starting all over again. They must be a favorite toy of lots of children to sell that many. Have a good week.

Why - oh why - don't they make them for adults? I'd like a Corvette one.

What a find! I was 19 in 1979 so I didn't have one of those but I did have a metal blue car that I pedaled around in when I was very young.

This seems like an updated version of Fred flintstone's car. Except without the granite wheels...
