Welcome to the Ann Tucker Blog!

Welcome to my personal blog. Thanks to my son for building this neat blog page. I decided I wanted to give my thoughts and words to the world and hope they have some meaning and memories to grandparents (and others) everywhere. I am a retired civil servant (35.5 years with the Department of the Air Force), mother of two and grandmother of five. My maiden name was Scaling and I was married to Tilford N. Tucker. I raised and put two great children through college so I have a lot of experiences to build on. After retirement I became a webmaster (working for my son) for some of our family websites: ShaggyDuck
Have a fun time and a great day, bookmark this site and come back often!!!!

Today's Thrifty Treasures

See what a lot of others got this last weekend

As you can see there wasn't much out there this weekend.
Friday it poured down rain and just about everyone took their things in.
Saturday wasn't a whole lot better (no last weekend for sure).
I got the two birdhouses for $1 each, two brand new photo albums for $1 each
and the cute 4th of July box of solid wood for $3. Some weekends "got it"
and some "don't"!!!

Love the red, white and blue goodies. Yep that's true some days are good for thrifting and some are not...

I love yard sales... and firmly believe one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!
My husband said we don't have enough room in our little house on the hill for more "yard sale finds"... but I sneak one or two things in every now and then!

Great hunting is fun too.

I think your yardsales were a success, you came home with something you like at a good price...alot less than buying retail!
I would have purchased the birdhouse too, I've been looking for some and coming up empty handed.
Photo albums are always handy too, and the little sign is perfect for 4 of July. You did great! Mary

Yes, I guess every weekend can't be a winner, or our houses would be bursting at the seems! You found some good stuff though. I'm a sucker for anything red, white & blue!

Garage sales are one of my fave weekend activities. You never know what you'll find :-) Looks like you did pretty good!

You did pretty good for a raining weekend. We had the same problem here...closed down all the block sales. Happy Thrifty Monday.

And that's OK too, I try not to feel bad if I don't find much, there's always another day.
