Welcome to the Ann Tucker Blog!

Welcome to my personal blog. Thanks to my son for building this neat blog page. I decided I wanted to give my thoughts and words to the world and hope they have some meaning and memories to grandparents (and others) everywhere. I am a retired civil servant (35.5 years with the Department of the Air Force), mother of two and grandmother of five. My maiden name was Scaling and I was married to Tilford N. Tucker. I raised and put two great children through college so I have a lot of experiences to build on. After retirement I became a webmaster (working for my son) for some of our family websites: ShaggyDuck
Have a fun time and a great day, bookmark this site and come back often!!!!

More Weekend Treasures

For more weekend finds click on
the logo box above

I didn't get these pics done till Sunday
night so please forgive the cruddy backgrounds.

I found this cute little green bird cage and
paid only $2.
I am hanging it on my porch
above my new porch furniture.

Then I found this bird house (yes, I am stuck
on bird houses)
it was only $2 with a metal roof.
Then I got this darling little sofa
table with one
small drawer. It is carved really cute and so are the

legs. It was a cool $5.

At the same house where I got the bird house
I found this cloche jar with cake plate to match.
I have never done one so I will have to think on
this awhile. This was $2.75 for both.

Then my daughter asked me if I wanted this,
which I said
yes. They are 6 little ceramic light
pulls for the holidays
for $3.
(Like I really needed this)

I like that cloche. I haven't done one either, but would like to sometime. My daughter influences me to buy stuff, too! :-)

What adorable finds! I love the birdcage and the birdhouse. You can't really tell on my blog, but I have at least 25 birdhouses...maybe 30. Most are waiting for me to mosaic them!

Your cloche is a fabulous find too!

Thanks for sharing!

Have a great week!

I have to admit, I love hunting through garage sales myself. I got the best deal a few months ago at a barn sale for horses. I got a horse hood, a breast collar, and saddle bags for $30. If I'd gotten them new? Over $100

Talk about steals!

Ann, I don't know how I missed your post- I thought I went down the list... You made out like a bandit with all of your things! The sofa table was a fantastic buy- what are your plans for it? Did you see all of the cloche posts last week? You can get a multitude of ideas.... Thanks for stopping by to leave a message. Sue

The table and the birdcage are my favorites. You get the best stuff on your treasure hunts! I think they have better buys there than here.

You found some great buys! The cloches are fun to decorate, I think you will enjoy having one. And you can always keep it on your kitchen counter filled with muffins!
Love the birdcage and house. I love anything bird related too. While I was away I picked up a cute teatowel or guest towel for 2$ at Cracker Barrel...they were closing out their bird line. If you are near one you might be interested.
The Christmas pulls are cute...how could you resist!
