Welcome to the Ann Tucker Blog!

Welcome to my personal blog. Thanks to my son for building this neat blog page. I decided I wanted to give my thoughts and words to the world and hope they have some meaning and memories to grandparents (and others) everywhere. I am a retired civil servant (35.5 years with the Department of the Air Force), mother of two and grandmother of five. My maiden name was Scaling and I was married to Tilford N. Tucker. I raised and put two great children through college so I have a lot of experiences to build on. After retirement I became a webmaster (working for my son) for some of our family websites: ShaggyDuck
Have a fun time and a great day, bookmark this site and come back often!!!!

On-The-Go-Dining

We do a lot of traveling back and forth to Oklahoma City, which is 87 miles. Of course with teenagers and a 5 year old in the car, someone is always wanting something to eat. We try to take along a snack of chips or pretzels. If you want to stop, Mickey Ds has good chicken nuggets for eating in the car or Sonic's new $1 menu items. We try not to spend a lot of money for food and don't usually go in to a restaurant and eat. Since we stop at Sams on most trips, the kids love their hot dogs and that pretty well fills them up for the trip home. We haven't found any miracle way to keep from having spills or messy trash in the car but we would never go anywhere without a package of wet wipes. They are also good for wiping hands before eating which is so important today with germs being spread on everything you touch.

Wow - seems like a lot of eateries are going for a $1 or a $2 option. Times are tough after all.

We always keep a tub of Wet Ones or other wipes in the car, too. We also keep a roll of paper towels, which has come in handy more than once!

There ARE alot of dollar menus nowadays. It seems pointless now for me to tell my kids, "Back in the old days, hamburgers only cost a dollar."

I keep those wipes in my car alone with a bottle of hand sanitizer. There are so many times I feel like my hands are dirty. I get mine at the dollar store real cheap, too. I can't pass McDonalds without getting one of their $1 ice cream sundaes. My Bob brought in 700 coffee filters from Sams the other day. I thought we may be dead before I use all those!
