Welcome to the Ann Tucker Blog!

Welcome to my personal blog. Thanks to my son for building this neat blog page. I decided I wanted to give my thoughts and words to the world and hope they have some meaning and memories to grandparents (and others) everywhere. I am a retired civil servant (35.5 years with the Department of the Air Force), mother of two and grandmother of five. My maiden name was Scaling and I was married to Tilford N. Tucker. I raised and put two great children through college so I have a lot of experiences to build on. After retirement I became a webmaster (working for my son) for some of our family websites: ShaggyDuck
Have a fun time and a great day, bookmark this site and come back often!!!!

OOPS!

I was sitting in my living room around noon, when my son stopped by and said something about my tree limb and I didn't know what he was referring to. He said my tree was half gone out front. I thought he was kidding. There was no wind or bad weather, it just fell apart. This old elm tree must be 70 years old or so. Can you believe this, the whole trunk is empty and it was budding out anyway!!! I can't believe it fell there and not on someones car. I had called the city last year that this tree needed to be cut down but they never came by. I need to put an old pair of sweat pants in that hole with the legs hanging out. Think that would stop traffic?

I think it's ashame when stuff happens to established trees like this. It was a good thing it didn't land on someone's car. Good luck!!

I think the sweat pants are a great idea! lol. I have a dead tree in my yard I need to get down, too. I did not know they got hollow when they died.

If you do the pants thing, make sure you post the photo. We'll all get a good chuckle out of that!
