Next Day After Tornado

This is our huge expo center that supports everything from basketball to monster trucks and even craft shows. The tornado caught the roof at the back, right end and wrapped it around a portion of the bldg that is on top of the roof. Then the yellow insulation and pieces of metal can be seen for literally miles. There was a second tornado that followed almost exactly the track of the first one and did some more damage, mainly fences, trees, roof shingles and loose objects. No leveling or people hurt thank goodness. More photos here if you are interested: EnidBuzz Blog

It looks terrible. The thought of all that debris flying around too. So how long do you typically stay in the basement after it passes or can you come up right away?
we took an emergency alert radio and as soon as they tell us its somewhere other than right over our heads we come out. At least it made my daughter say they are helping me clean up the cob webs soon and put some chairs down there. Sitting on the steps is hard on the "posterior". I have lived in this house about 18 years and only been to the basement 2 times including last night. As the tale goes, Enid was built on an old Indian burial ground and won't take a direct hit from a tornado. Probably an old wives tale.

Best wishes for a speedy cleanup!! I can't imagine.
That does look terrible. Hope you guys manage to clean it up and get back to 'normal' as soon as you can.
Funny comment by your daughter. :)
(Saw the additional photos) Noooo!! Not the trampoline and the playhouse! I definitely will add tornadoes to my list of things I don't like.
Thank goodness you were spared. I have been in a tornado once in Topeka Kansas. They said there was an Indian tribe curse there too. They said an "x" would happen (two separate tornados within 20years whose paths would form an X over the city. It happened!
