Gods Little Favors

I've sure gotten old! I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees, and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation; hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But, thank God, I still have my driver's license.

Funny, but not really!
Haha. That's right. And when you have a licence - the world is ok.
(glad you liked your poem)
Hahaha
When my great grandfather had gotten into his late 70s, he was still driving, but shouldn't have been. He'd drive home from his restaurant at night on route 28 in Harwich.
At 5 mph.
He'd have a line of cars behind him blasting their horns. Finally a cop would pull him over. But after he pulled over he'd forget why, and just as the cop was getting out of the car he'd take off again...
And that's why we all need to get rich soon. So we can have a chauffeur drive us around in a Bentley everywhere when we get old. I've already named my future chauffeur, Clarence. And he's handsome.
And that's sooo funny about Joe's great grandfather. Comical.
I keep telling my 83 year old mom, who still drives locally (but probably shouldn't)that if she figures out how much she is spending on insurance, gas and maintenance on the car, she could use a taxi locally 20 times a month instead. I'm hoping she'll soon see the light. Losing your licence doesn't have to mean losing your independence.
How funny~
However, I ran an Assisted Living and I had to report a few of the Residents so that they would get tested and get their driver's license taken away...they still wanted to drive and were too unsafe to do so!
