Welcome to the Ann Tucker Blog!

Welcome to my personal blog. Thanks to my son for building this neat blog page. I decided I wanted to give my thoughts and words to the world and hope they have some meaning and memories to grandparents (and others) everywhere. I am a retired civil servant (35.5 years with the Department of the Air Force), mother of two and grandmother of five. My maiden name was Scaling and I was married to Tilford N. Tucker. I raised and put two great children through college so I have a lot of experiences to build on. After retirement I became a webmaster (working for my son) for some of our family websites: ShaggyDuck
Have a fun time and a great day, bookmark this site and come back often!!!!

From My Soap Box........

I don't know if any of you have a Sonic Drive-In in your town. The headquarters is in Oklahoma City and they may be only in Oklahoma. They are a neat drive in, they have the best ice in town and they have a happy hour everyday (2-4pm). Their only problem is they never seem to mark the different drinks. The drink filler person never punches the tops right. You can have eight people in your car and you all have to figure out whose drink is whose unless you can see cream or cherry on the top. Forget it if you don't like vanilla in your coke, because you are bound to get that one. Forget it if you have pneumonia and should not drink and then give your drink to someone else. We have 4 Sonics in town and none of them mark the tops and neither do some of the other fast food places in town. What is the problem? We even ask "Please mark the drinks" and they still get them wrong. It is like Mickey Ds will hardly ever get your order right if you are in the drive thru. Where is the good old "good customer service"? What happened to the people who used to listen to what you ordered and get it right? In my jobs, if I treated the military members who came in my office for service like I get treated, I would not have lasted very long. I guess the solution for drinks is go through the line the number of times that you have people who want drinks and order one at a time. As for Mickey Ds I might have to do what my son did - park his car and went in and asked "Do your instructions tell you to get everyones order wrong?"

I feel your pain. Same thing at Jack-in-the-Crack. Good customer service is definitely from a bygone era.

It can be frustrating at times for sure. I try not to think about it.
