Welcome to the Ann Tucker Blog!

Welcome to my personal blog. Thanks to my son for building this neat blog page. I decided I wanted to give my thoughts and words to the world and hope they have some meaning and memories to grandparents (and others) everywhere. I am a retired civil servant (35.5 years with the Department of the Air Force), mother of two and grandmother of five. My maiden name was Scaling and I was married to Tilford N. Tucker. I raised and put two great children through college so I have a lot of experiences to build on. After retirement I became a webmaster (working for my son) for some of our family websites: ShaggyDuck
Have a fun time and a great day, bookmark this site and come back often!!!!

Your Guest House is Where?

A Kids (and an adults) Fondest Wish......

What do you think that would be? In my opinion it would be to have a tree house. In fact if I had one right now I would love it!

Can you imagine having one as a home office, an escape place, a guesthouse or a place to read a good book, besides a kids dream house. The USA Weekend supplement in the paper talks about America's new love affair with tree houses. What neat designs you can pull up by googling "tree houses". Check here for more where i got my pics.

Some of these tree houses are just like a real home with running water, electricity and with real furniture. Even in today's economy it says the companies that build these neat houses are doing a land office business. That's it - live in the tree house and rent out your home.
There is a house a few blocks from me that has a really neat tree house and they built a terrific spiral staircase up to it. What would you do if you had a tree house?

I agree! It would be a blast to have a huge tree house.
I have the next best thing...we live in a log home on a lake. Nature all around us!
Now...if spring would just get here!

Oohhh, I'd love a small tree house as a hideaway. I'd even play a CD of rainforest sounds up there.

Then when Husband calls me in to make dinner, I'd just tell him I can't because the crocodiles below will get me.

We used to have a tree house as a kid, a lot of fun. The tree houses in the photos look totally cool, they would be great for kids and adults. Of course it could be a challenge if you don't have any decent trees ...

I have a fear of height. I don't think I could be comfortable in a tree house. I would love one of those on the ground though.

I want one, I'd have one in my backyard and I would most certainly be that bully that won't let the kids in! Pesky little snots. They already have a yellow and pink fisher price house that they dismantled and are using as well... I"m not sure.
