Welcome to the Ann Tucker Blog!

Welcome to my personal blog. Thanks to my son for building this neat blog page. I decided I wanted to give my thoughts and words to the world and hope they have some meaning and memories to grandparents (and others) everywhere. I am a retired civil servant (35.5 years with the Department of the Air Force), mother of two and grandmother of five. My maiden name was Scaling and I was married to Tilford N. Tucker. I raised and put two great children through college so I have a lot of experiences to build on. After retirement I became a webmaster (working for my son) for some of our family websites: ShaggyDuck
Have a fun time and a great day, bookmark this site and come back often!!!!

Take the Train

How long has it been since you were on a train? I have been watching ABCs whistle stop series on the morning news. I wish I was on that tour, 50 states in 50 days, WOW, what a treat that would be. I'd like to take my grandkids on a train trip. They would love that. I often think about a trip I took on a train back in the 60s in Germany. I was going to a conference and we had to take a train from Frankfort to Munich. It was so great because it was one of those trains like you see in the old movies, with the hall on one side and the little rooms on the other, with the sliding doors. You would expect to see Humphrey Bogart coming down the hall with his hand in his pocket and his brimmed hat down over his eyes. We were going from Munich to Berchtesgaden which is one of the most beautiful places in Europe. It is in the mountains and from the hotel we stayed at you could see the Alps of four countries and it was breath taking. All Aboard!

Hi Ann, Thanks for adding my recipe blog to your site. I have only been on a train one time in my life and that was in the early 90s. I took my girls just from one town to the next. I would love to go on a train trip but then after seeing where that one wrecked the other day I may have second thoughts! Thanks for becoming a follower of my blog.
